Keynes — A Start (2)

An Addendum to Keynes — A Start (1):

From Keynes foreword (1936) to the German edition of his General Theory.
The theory of aggregated production, which is the point of the following book, nevertheless can be much easier adapted to the conditions of a totalitarian state than the theory of production and distribution of a given production put forth under conditions of free competition and a large degree of laissez-faire.

Anyone who is acquainted with Keynes politics knows that this is not an endorsement of totalitarianism. And even though it may not have been meant to serve as a hint to the possible abuse of the naturally ambivalent instrument of Keynesian demand management, I do read it in this light.
