Institutionalised Corruption in "Science" (1)

Richard Lindzen reminds us that the now dominant climate models failing to take into account a host of phenomena vitaly affecting climate are therefore simply not justified in making predictions of global temperatures with the cocksure assertiveness expressed in hysterical alarmism.

Having exposed the feeble grounding of prevalent climate science, Lindzen poses this question:

How did we get to this point where the science ceased to be interested in the fascinating question of accounting for the remarkable history of the earth's climate, for an understanding of how climate actually works, and instead devoted itself to a component of political correctness.

Lindzen points to the fact that the number of staff and students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (where he taught) has not changed much since the 1960s, but the number of administrative positions has seen a tenfold expansion. The latter are intimately tied to politics and political interest groups, some of which have been able to impose their agendas on the scientific process.
