Cool in Bygone Days (33) — Wes Montgomery, How Insensitive

Writes Bill Mitchell,

This is from – Wes Montgomery – the best jazz guitar player of all time who died way too young from heart failure.

This is an instrumental version of the classic bossa nova song (covered by many) – How Insensitive – written by Vinicius De Moraes, Norman Gimbel, Antônio Carlos Jobim.

It was recorded in 1966 and is on Montgomery’s album called Tequila (Verve), one of my favourites.

Wes Montgomery, the best jazz guitar player of all time. He mastered the use of thumb in playing the octave patterns.

Very mellow and beautiful.

Perfect way to start the 2-day holiday.
