Germany So Behind the Times

 

Image credit. In February, the carnival season is getting into full swing in Germany. As far as the Energiewende goes, it envelopes the country in a carnival atmosphere all year long.

With her CO2-mania, Germany is so behind the times — the dogmatic insulation of the underlying pseudo-scientific assumptions being another sign of the frenzy's religious nature. 

Mit seiner CO2-Manie lebt Deutschland hinter dem Mond. Die dogmatische Abschottung der ihr zugrunde liegenden pseudowissenschaftlichen Annahmen gegen Anfechtungen durch alternative Theorien und handfeste Befunde ist einfach nur ein weiteres Anzeichen dafür, dass es sich hier um einen religiösen Wahn handelt.

Nearly every day (see links below), scientists are coming up with papers that question the overly simplistic theory of catastrophic anthropogenic global warming (CAGW). Among other things, they criticise the self-serving self-containment of the CAGW-models that construct apocalyptic scenarios by playing with their own assumptions. More humble, conscientious and professional scientists challenge the absence of empirical support for CAGW, providing themselves substantive observational evidence that fatally undermines the plausibility of the politically driven dystopian theory, refuting in the process many of its predictions. 

Fast jeden Tag (siehe Links unten) präsentieren Wissenschaftler Ergebnisse, die die grotesk vereinfachende Theorie von der katastrophalen anthropogenen Erderwärmung (CAGW) infrage stellen. Unter anderem kritisieren sie, dass die Modelle, anhand derer apokalyptische Szenarien konstruiert werden, die von ihren Betreibern gewünschte eigene, von der empirischen Wirklichkeit abgeschottete Welt durch passendes Hinbiegen ihrer Randbedingungen schaffen. Wissenschaftler, die bescheidener, gewissenhafter und professioneller in ihrem Vorgehen sind, bemängeln das Fehlen empirischer Indizien, die die Hypothese vom CAGW abstützen. Dieser andere Schlag von Wissenschaftlern legt Beobachtungen vor, die die Plausibilität der politisch motivierten dystopischen Theorie grundlegend unterminieren und viele ihrer Vorhersagen widerlegen.

 

If Germans were seriously worried that the world might perish, they would take up these papers, study them carefully and rejoice in the ample findings suggesting that we are not faced with serious climatic threats at all.

Wenn die Deutschen wirklich Sorge hätten, die Welt könne untergehen, würden sie begierig nach diesen wissenschaftlichen Befunden greifen, sie sorgfältig studieren und in Freude ausbrechen, weil eine Flut an Indizien nahelegt, dass wir mitnichten durch ernste klimatische Gefahren bedroht werden.

But what they are really after at the end of the day is confirmation of a wailing mantra.

Remember my thesis: the linchpin of the CO2-religion is the deeply ingrained tenet that evil man is hell-bent to destroy the planet. Nothing infuriates them more than evidence or propositions contrary to this belief.

Doch was ihnen wirklich am Herzen liegt, ist die Lust, sich im Gefühl zu wiegen, ihr gebetsmühlenartig angestimmtes Klagelied von der Zerstörung des Planeten durch den Menschen werde ein ums andere Mal durch eine schreckliche Wirklichkeit beglaubigt. Nichts erzürnt sie mehr als Aussagen oder Belege, die diesem Glauben widersprechen.

Find below links to the vast literature that rebuts CAGW. The most charitable conclusion to draw from these findings is that CAGW is scientifically so insubstantial and questionable that under no circumstances may it serve as the base for policies and action. Such would be the result of applying the precautionary principle properly.

Unten finden sie Links auf die umfangreiche Literatur, die die Theorie des CAGW entkräften. Der wohlwollendste Schluss, den ich angesichts dieser Befunde zu ziehen vermag, lautet: Die Theorie vom CAGW ist derart dürftig und fragwürdig, dass sie unter keinen Umständen als Grundlage für konkrete Maßnahmen dienen darf. Das wäre das Ergebnis, zu dem man käme, wenn das Vorsichtsprinzip sachgerecht angewendet werden würde.
