Cool in Bygone Days (16) — No Matter, Jack Radics

This is the tune I've been searching for in vain since a long time. The last of the songs I seem never to be able to get hold of. But this time it was not the internet that made me find the ditty eventually. 

I'm not musical at all, so it's no use humming the melody to someone who might recognise it. My memory of the lyrics was faulty as well: the clues I was searching in the internet were  — rather misleadingly — "getting better" and "better and better". Also, I didn't remember the "no matter" part at all.

Yesterday, I was running an errand for a friend that took me to a copy shop. I hardly managed to focus on the conversation with the copy shop owner — they were playing my song.

Eventually I asked the shop owner if he happened to know the title of the tune.

"One sec," said he, disappeared into the backroom and returned at once with the answer: "'No matter', by Jack Radics." 

To me, the name sounded like Jack Rudicks, well — no matter.

Hier ist der Song, den ich schon lange suche. Der letzte Song unter denen, die ich ewig nicht ausfindig machen konnte im Internet. Aber diesmal war es nicht das Internet, das mir dann doch zum Fund verhalf.

Ich bin überhaupt nicht musikalisch. Es hat also keinen Zweck, jemanden die Melodie vorzusingen, der den Titel vielleicht erkennt. Die bruchstückhafte Erinnerung an den Text war eher irreführend — "getting better" und "better and better" —, und an den Teil im Refrain, in dem der Song-Titel — "no matter" — vorkommt, konnte ich mich überhaupt nicht erinnern.

Gestern hatte ich eine Besorgung für einen Freund in einem Copy Shop zu erledigen. Mir fiel es schwer, mich auf das Gespräch mit dem Ladeninhaber zu konzentrieren, denn im Hintergrund spielte mein Lied.

Ich habe den Ladenbesitzer dann einfach auf den Kopf zu gefragt, ob er den Titel des Liedes kennt.

"Sekunde", sagte er, verschwand im Hinterzimmer und kehrte kurze Zeit später mit der Antwort zurück: "'No matter' von Jack Radics". Ich verstand John Rudicks, aber was soll's — ich hatte das Lied gefunden.
