Cool in Bygone Days (12) — Johnny B. Goode, Chuck Berry

Image credit. At around 5, I arrived in Venice after a 4 week boat trip from South Africa; Venice was magnificent and it seemed to have ushered in the time of consecutive memories. The experience of Venice had a freshness of sensation to it that I associate with the first encounter with a fruit of partcularly good taste or a riveting piece of music.


Age has its welcome presents; however, among them is hardly the fresh sensation of a music track so unique and new that it's going to stick in your mind for ever as something special. At least, that's the way with me. Music no longer goes as deep with me as it used to.

Among my all time fouvrites is Johnny B. Goode that I remember listening to a hundred times with growing relish at age 12 on a YMCA coach trip to Hamburg and back (a goodish 1,600 km roundtrip of 20 hours).
